Random: Nate

Memo to everyone: Every chance you get, celebrate that moment of life!  It ONLY comes once!!!

I know its been a few weeks since I’ve put out an update, but I just wanted to keep you all guessing on how awesome I’m doing! Well, to start off the first thing that comes to mind is that I jumped off an aerobic step! Now I know you all are like “WOW, a step! What’s so great about that”, but believe it or not, I had lost pretty much ALL my strength! The guy that could ONCE dead lift 435lbs when he was only a puny 155lbs jumped off A step… WOW!!! But in all actuality it is a HUGE accomplishment because looking back at it I had doctors say, “he might not wake up from his coma, and that he’ll never walk again….” HA, look at me now!!! I believe that all this has been possible due to the love and support from my family and friends, and more importantly, the power of prayer! I am who I am today all thanks to my boy J.C upstairs! So in retrospect I thank him daily for letting me be who I am today!

Just over a week ago I, yes I turned 21! To me it wasn’t all its cracked up to be! Most people go out and get trashed out of their minds, but me having this type of brain injury I have, can’t go out and drink which to me is a blessing in disguise considering when I was younger I partied a little TOO MUCH! This is kind of an informal thank you because there are just TOO many people to thank individually so I hope its ok to thank you ALL in bulk? So THANK you ALL for coming and helping me celebrate my 21st year of life after pretty much cheating death!

So I want to put out a special thanks to those who traveled from far away places, and just up the street to come help me celebrate the turning of another chapter in the book, “The WONDERFUL life of Nate”!

Also, this week I was able to kick a ball! So my friends from my indoor soccer team, watch out because in NO TIME I’ll be back on the team helping you guys… lose, well hopefully win but that’s to be determined in the future!

Hi my name is Lynnette and I work at the drivers license office in Parker. I was the one who was kidding with you when you got your picture taken. You really do have a wonderful smile. I was told by my coworkers that you were involved in a serious car accident and decided you look you up. I can't get you out of my thoughts and prayers. You are an inspiration to me with your upbeat personality and achievements.
You inspire me to be less judgemental and needy. Wow if you can overcome all that has been laid on you, what can I achieve? Better things after having met you. Just to let you know you are my hero and I will keeep you in my thoughts and prayers. I will also continue following your blog.

I agree, he came up to me to get his license renewed. What an inspiration. We talked for a few minutes, and although I told him that he would have to get the Dr. to fill out the form so he could get a license, he just smiled and said he un...derstood, that he did not feel he was ready to drive yet. So he got an ID card. We talked for a while and I could n't believe what he had been through. And what an awesome smile and great personality. I had to tell everyone about what a remarkable person he is. He just has that affect on you.

Nate!
You may remember me as the person from the gym that was always happy to see you working out (in Omaha)...I sure miss seeing you there, your smile and determination. I am glad you are doing well. Yes, the power of prayer is amazing- don't ever forget that. Take care and keep on doing your best. Smile!
